Print, Web & Photography

I was born in 1976, and have a long interest in computers and design. I was on the yearbook committee in high school, won the English and Geography awards in my senior year, and mainly studied Art History at university. I later took Journalism at college, and was named the first co-editor for my year. Shortly thereafter I started working in the composing/prepress department and later was hired to work in editorial as a paginator/designer.

I have a high degree of proficiency in various Adobe products, including InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator and Acrobat. I am also experienced in Dreamweaver, Muse, and Flash and I have also done some work with Premier Pro and Audition. I have previously used QuarkXPress, various imposition and RIP programs and have extensive experience working with both imagesetters and platesetters in a newsprint environment. I also enjoy using Applescript to make scriptable jobs easier.

While I pride myself on being a self-starter, I am also more than happy to work with direction. Working collaboratively is often very important, and I always welcome constructive criticism as part of the creative process.

I spent well over a decade working with nightly deadlines — sometimes two or three deadlines a night, in fact. I am excellent at doing a great job under pressure, or working extended hours when required.
